Japan is a volcanic country

Recently the supply of Japan’s energy became nuclear-free.  But the government has decided to restart Oi nuclear power plant to deal with the shortage of energy of this summer.

Japan’s energy has depended on nuclear and fossil fuel.  Although Japan is not blessed with oil and other natural resources, it is rich in one possible energy source.  That is geothermal power.  Japan has about 10 percent of the world’s active volcanoes.  This power is clean and sustainable.  It sounds nice!  But those volcanoes are almost located in national parks.  The natural beauty there must be protected.  Also there are many hot spring resorts around those volcanoes.   Hot spring spas are what Japanese have loved so much.

Solving the energy issue is not easy.
