March 3rd is girl’s day.  ‘Hina-dolls’ are displayed in girl’s families on this day.  The dolls represent emperor, empress and their court.  People celebrate thier daughter’s healthy growth and hope they will grow to be as gracious as the imperial family.

But these dolls must be put back in the closet soon after March 3.  Because it is believed that when the dolls continue to be displayed, the daughters won’t be able to marry easily.

I tried to make paper dolls.
