Merry New Year!

The new year holidays are over finally.  We have to return to a normal life…

2012 is ‘the year of the dragon’ according to the Chinese zodiac.  Many figures and images of a dragon can be found in many tourist spots such as Asakusa this year.

As the dragon has the image of rising up in the sky, ‘dragon year’ is often expected to be a good and lucky year.  Indeed it has been for quite some time now.  The share prices in past dragon years have increased the most on average in Japan.  Many big projects were done, too; The Tokyo Olympics and the start of the Shinkansen bullet train service in 1964.  Also in America, Steve Jobs founded Apple in the year of the dragon 1976!

The last year was very difficult.  So I really hope the dragon will bring us all a happy and successful year!
